NORTHFIELD LIBRARY EVENTS

The Library is divided into two sections, one for adults and one for children. There are special kid-size desks and chairs, as well as a Story Time reading area, in the Children’s Section.

The Library participates in a statewide inter-library loan pro-gram, and we can order almost any book not in our own stacks for you. There is no charge for this service.

The Library has three computers with high-speed Internet connec-tions available for searching the World Wide Web. There is no charge for the use of the computers, but printed copies of Web pages are 15¢ each for text and 50¢ each for graphics. Your session may be limited to 30 minutes if demand warrants. No e-mail service is available.

The Library also has a separate computer available with word processing software and an inkjet printer. There is no charge for the use of the computer, but any printed copies are 15¢ each for text and 50¢ each for graphics.

The Library publishes a quarterly 8-page newsletter in March, June, September and December. Copies of the newsletter are available at the Main Desk, at no charge.

THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

This nonprofit volunteer group supports the Library by providing services and funds for projects that are above and beyond the Library’s budget. They help to publish the Library’s quarterly newsletter, and organize various events such as the Book Sale, Poetry Night, a “Green Eggs & Ham” Brunch, the Annual Essay Contest and the Summer Book Party. If you like books, you’ll enjoy being with the Friends. The Friends group meets at the Library at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. The annual membership fee is $5 ($3 for senior citizens, $10 for a family membership). For more information, call Seth at 272-9164.
