LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLD ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (LIHWAP)
Winter brings colder temperatures, which leads to increased energy use and higher energy bills. Atlantic City Electric reminds customers to take advantage of billing assistance programs, including the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, a federally funded program that helps limited-income households with their home energy bills. Customers should not wait for winter heating bills to arrive before applying for help – LIHEAP is a first come, first serve program and is only available until funding runs out.

WHERE DO YOUR TAX DOLLARS GO?
In NJ, your property tax bill pays for local government, school and county expenses. The City of Northfield collects your property taxes, and distributes most of this money to the other entities. So where exactly does your money go? Please see the chart attached. Roughly 28 cents of every dollar is retained by the City of Northfield for the purpose of providing all municipal services, including public safety, and the other 72 cents is sent to the local and regional schools, and to Atlantic County government, to fund the services they provide.
