According to information provided by the Atlantic County Division of Public Health, testing for COVID-19 remains one of our best tools to prevent the spread of the virus. To assist with this effort, the Atlantic County Division of Public Health has FREE rapid COVID-19 tests for county residents, and the City of Northfield has partnered with them for distribution.
FREE Test kits for Atlantic County residents are available for pick up at Northfield City Hall (Monday – Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm excluding holidays), or at the Otto Bruyns Public Library during their regular hours of business.

But wait, there's more!

Do YOU have a kit at home that think may be expired? GOOD NEWS! The FDA has extended the shelf-life of certain kits by a full year – see image for details.

PSA FROM COMCAST - AFFORDABLE CONNECTIVITY PROGRAM
Recently, the federal government’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) announced a new milestone. Launched nearly two years ago, it has now connected more than 20 million households to the Internet. This is a remarkable achievement and we at Comcast are proud to participate in the program. The ACP provides families with a $30/month benefit toward their Internet bill.

When applied to Comcast’s Internet Essentials or Internet Essentials Plus tiers, it makes connectivity to the Internet effectively free. Comcast is working to get more ACP-eligible households to enroll. Great progress is being made to close the digital divide, but too many families, in communities across the nation, have yet to take advantage of this once-in-a-generation opportunity.

WHERE DO YOUR TAX DOLLARS GO?
In NJ, your property tax bill pays for local government, school and county expenses. The City of Northfield collects your property taxes, and distributes most of this money to the other entities. So where exactly does your money go? Please see the chart attached. Roughly 28 cents of every dollar is retained by the City of Northfield for the purpose of providing all municipal services, including public safety, and the other 72 cents is sent to the local and regional schools, and to Atlantic County government, to fund the services they provide.
